A week ago i walked into a room of 10 of the most beautiful girls Ive ever seen & stared the broken heart of God straight in the eyes.
These 10 girls all have different stories but all share one thing in common— they have been treated as less than beloved daughters of the King.
They are hurting & He is hurting for them.
Human and sexual trafficking marks their past but each of them has been rescued by the Dunamis foundation with the hope that it won’t mark their future. Each day I witness them run into the arms of the Father as he gently carries them through healing and rehabilitation.
These girls have tasted and seen what a fallen world looks like, and my heart is incomprehensibly heavy for that.
As it says in John 10:10, the enemy has come to steal, kill, and destroy in the lives of these girls at such a young age. But luckily the verse doesn’t end there and John 10:10 continues on to say that Jesus has come to give these girls life and life to the full.
Had this happened prior to 2000 years ago, then this would’ve been the end of their story and John 10:10 would not yet be able to continue on to counteract what the enemy has come to do.
But there is hope now. There is a savior now. They are clean now. We are clean now. There is abundant life waiting for His children now.
So while I’ve witnessed the tears of these girls break the heart of the Father, I’ve also seen their smiles embody His glory & restoration beyond comparison.
Thank you Jesus for calling us beloved.
Thank you Jesus for coming to restore the broken heart of your Father.
dang. what good perspective on this verse for the lives of these girls. i loved reading this :’)
